I bring my skills, experience and a lifelong passion for flooring to my role as an Architectural Consultant for Advance. I am always keen to add an expert eye to any interior layout or colour query. My knowledge of materials, the NZBC and product application ensure every project is met with the utmost care and consideration to both its design and functionality. What do you like about working at Advance Flooring?
It’s the human connections I make through meeting clients that make my job special. Those incidental insights into their lives outside of the workplace and getting to know them not just as an architect, but as an avid foodie, surfer or traveller.Tell us how your experience and background in the industry...
I completed a Bachelors degree in Textile Design at Massey University in Wellington, with a focus on interior surface pattern. My final year print ‘Hills of Home’ was a finalist for Home Magazine's Design of the Year and later sold to Hemptech.
I then worked in a variety of roles in the interiors industry before finding my niche in carpets and rugs. In 2013 I travelled to London and spent the next seven years working for a boutique carpet company in Chelsea. During my time there I led a multitude of high end international luxury projects including super yachts and royal residences.Outside work hours, how do you enjoy spending your time?
Outside of work you’ll most likely find me swimming in the local beaches that surround our beautiful city, such as Point Chev, Takapuna or Milford. Or if staying in Christchurch, the beautiful Corsair Bay. I also enjoy spending quality time with my partner Paul and our rescue cat Salem.
