Flooring rubber can be made with a number of different processes and compounds, yet they all result in a similar chemical composition. The tightly-bound electrons in rubber are not free to be shared with the neighbouring atoms; this causes the electrons to slow down, which makes it a great insulator for both electricity and heat.
