As well as being made from a sustainable crop, the production of Sorona fibre uses 30% less energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 63% compared to producing an equal amount of nylon 6. Compared to an equal amount of nylon 6.6, the production of Sorona® uses 40% less energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 56%. In addition, no added chemical treatments are used for stain resistance.

Greenpad Carpet Tiles manufactured from Du Pont Sorona fibre is now certified by Environmental Choice New Zealand. Environmental Choice is a programme endorsed by the Ministry for the Environment. It is aimed at improving the quality of the environment by minimising the adverse environmental impacts generated by the production, distribution, use and disposal of products.

Lifetime Stain Resistance
Sorona offers you permanent stain resistance that’s built right into the fibre. Even tough stains like mustard, tomato sauce, coffee and red wine will not penetrate carpets made with Sorona. Unlike sprayed on surface stain resistant treatments used on other fibres, Sorona’s permanent stain resistance is part of the DNA of the fibre, because of this the stain resistance will never wash off or wear away so carpets will look like new for years to come. Carpets made with Sorona are bleach and UV-resistant to reduce fading.
