Havelock carpet tiles help welcome patients to an innovative new medical centre

Tend Health are dedicated to upturning traditional healthcare models and delivery through a reimagining of what a medical clinic can be. Along with interior designers Designwell, Tend have transformed an inefficient and outdated Auckland clinic and pharmacy into a welcoming, calming new space. Havelock carpet tiles from Advance Flooring play an important part in that transformation. The project won a Best Award in the Spatial category in 2022.

In the words of the designers, ’The new Tend clinic is a highly technical project, a beautiful, well balanced and efficient space that calmly facilitates a people-focused healthcare service.’

Tend’s philosophy is simple: put people first. To that end, the reception area and waiting room uses natural timber, large windows for filtered natural light and softened pastel tints of the brand colours to create a welcoming first impression.

‘Basic waiting room elements are made a feature, such as the brand coral hydration station inset to the timber wall and the acoustic ceiling panels featuring the brand icon in signature purple.’ To compliment these, the designers specified Havelock carpet tiles for their subtle, random pattern, and set the tiles within a curved form that both delineates different functional zones while helping soften the space, putting patients at ease.
