Reimagining the law office with vibrant design

Building on a 150-year history, Anthony Harper’s new workplace is a bold reimagining of what a law office can be. Vibrant, natural tretford carpet from Advance Flooring brings the interior to life with colour and flair.

Set over two levels of the ANZ Tower in Auckland’s CBD, the design by Wingates takes advantage of magnificent views across the Waitemata harbour and showcases the firm’s renowned working culture.

‘Anthony Harper wanted to step away from the look of a traditional law firm,’ says Xavier Apelinga from Wingates. ‘We created a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment that reflects their values. With a range of desirable working areas.’

Tretford carpet delivers on comfort and sustainability

The designers used tretford carpeting to complement the vibrant colours of the ceiling and wall finishes, working in with an established brand identity. Contrasting with terrazzo flooring in the public areas, tretford brings a softer, more relaxed feel to spaces where staff and clients come together.

‘We aimed to use sustainable products that had the potential to promote a healthy indoor environment.’ Constructed from over 70% natural Cashmere goat hair, tretford is ethically sourced through goat-herding communities in Mongolia. Available in carpet tiles, rolls and rugs, the range is a sustainable choice and Global GreenTag Level A certified.

Creating functional spaces for a modern legal environment

With a palette of 60 colours, the range allowed Wingates and Anthony Harper to create a variety of formal and informal spaces that enhanced the firm’s professional aesthetic.

‘The carpet also contributes to a functional acoustic environment essential for a bustling legal firm, absorbing sound and softening the surrounding hard surfaces.’ For Anthony Harper, this new workspace is the next step in their 150-year journey, bringing to life the culture of the firm for 2024 and beyond.
